Nurture
- We have a Nurture provision at Primrose the follows the six principles of Nurture. We have an internal referral system where children can be referred in to Nurture by staff members if they think the children will benefit. Miss Ellis runs 2 Nurture sessions a day with small groups of children.
Thrive
- The Thrive Approach is a trauma-sensitive, developmental method used in schools to support the social and emotional well-being of children and young people. It uses neuroscience, attachment theory, and child development to help adults understand behavior, spot emotional gaps early, and build resilience through creative and play-based activities. We offer group and one to one Thrive sessions at Primrose, delivered by Mrs Smith.
Academic
- We offer a range of interventions at Primrose to help support the children academically. We WELLCOMM screen all our pupils when they enter the centre and will offer 'the big book of ideas' interventions for those who need it. If pupils need it we will support parents with speech and language referrals too. We assess all children on their phonics ability or reading ability if they are secure in their phonics knowledge. Children who need a boost in their phonics knowledge will have a phonics interventions following 'Little Wandle'. Additional to this, Mrs Broom (our intervention LSP) is trained to deliver Precision Teaching and support children with DLD.
